    I promised that this site wouldn’t just be a laundry list of home business ideas, but I do think we need to share some ideas! Each week, I’ll add another letter of the alphabet and some ideas for home based businesses. Please share your ideas too.

    A is for:

    Affiliate marketing

    My favorite! Affiliate marketing is a low-cost home business that anyone can learn. You need a computer, internet connection, and a willingness to put in some effort.

    Article writing

    I’ve talked about this one before – and if you’ve ever been interested in writing, there is a huge need for article writers today – thanks in part to the increasing number of affiliate marketers!

    Advertising services

    If your background is in advertising, you can run a home based business catering to small businesses who need advertising and related services, but can’t afford the big shop prices. Find other freelancers to do the graphics, media planning or other areas you are not skilled in, and work together to get more referrals and more business.

    Art lessons

    If you are artistic – know how to draw, paint, sculpt etc – you may find a market for art lessons. You can run art classes for children or adults from your home. You will need materials, but if you start with small groups you can expand as the business grows.
